The Queer Commons is a community-based organization dedicated to developing and supporting free educational events by and for queer and LGBT folks, particularly people of color, noncitizens, low-income folks, trans, gender nonconforming, genderqueer and intersex people, and all those who exist outside of the gay mainstream. Our events, which include peer-led discussion groups, panels, participatory workshops and more, promote dialogue around social justice-based themes, support the health and well-being of the queer community, empower queer organizing, and encourage new leadership from within the queer community. Our current programming priorities include participatory workshops and events that are produced collaboratively by members of the community, and that are no-cost and held in accessible spaces. The LGBTQ Mental Health/Social Service Providers Discussion Group is a space to encourage peer learning among providers serving the queer community. Our 600+ member listserv can help you get the word out about all of the spectacular things YOU are doing! Finally, our brand new Queer Housing Listserv is intended to be accessible and affirming for queer and trans individuals from many experiences and identities.CO-SPONSORSHIPS
