Are there any queer theory or general queer-focused titles sitting on your bookshelf that you are simply OVER? You’ve read them three times and have gleaned about as much information as possible? You vehemently disagree with the premise? They are so fantastically brilliant that you want to share them with the world? Just need to clear out space for your crystal unicorn collection?
If so, we have a solution for you! The Queer Book Swap takes place every 3-4 months to encourage the sharing and re-use of books, zines, and other media. The Queer Commons and partner/co-host Brandi W. hosted the first Book Swap in February 2011 and had approximately 75 swappers in attendance. All books and other items leftover from the event were donated to the Bronx Community Pride Center. Please check back for further details about our next Book Swap event, scheduled for May 2011!
